Juvederm is a transparent, injectable gel that can improve your
appearance by reducing facial lines and wrinkles. Juvederm contains
hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar that boosts skin elasticity. It has
been approved by the FDA for the treatment of facial wrinkles and
folds in both males and females above the age of 18. Juvederm is
available in two formulations: Juvederm Ultra, which is a regular
filler, and Juvederm Ultra Plus, which is used to treat deeper facial
Juvederm supplements your body's natural supply of hyaluronic acid,
which depletes as you age. The gel is injected into the skin of the
face, where it lifts and adds volume to wrinkles. Because of its gel
consistency, it provides a smooth and natural looking appearance.
After six to nine months, the compound is naturally absorbed by the
body and treatments need to be repeated to maintain results.
Juvederm can be used to:

• Add volume to the folds between the cheeks and nose
• Plump up the nasolabial folds, the lines between the nose and
outer corners of the mouth (smile lines).
• Enhance lip volume
• Reshape cheek and nose contours

Juvederm treatments are quick and relatively painless. The number of
syringes of Juvederm used depends upon the number of areas you wish to
treat and the severity of the wrinkles. Although some results will be
visible immediately after treatment, it may take two weeks for any
initial swelling to subside and for the product to settle.
Side effects from Juvederm injections are rare, but include redness,
swelling tenderness, pain or bumps at the site of the injection. If
side effects do occur, they usually last only a few days.
